Financial Services provides services to schools and HRCE departments in the areas of finance, accounting, payroll, purchasing, contract and grants administration.

For the 2023-2024 fiscal year, the HRCE will manage a General Fund budget of $723,434,100, of which $529,214,000 comes from the Province of Nova Scotia, $173,833,800 comes from the Halifax Regional Municipality and the remainder from other sources.

The HRCE will also manage a Supplementary Fund budget of $13,572,900 (provided by the HRM) which is spent equitably across the entire region.
