The Food and Nutrition Policy (FNP) for Nova Scotia Public Schools was launched in September 2006, with a three-year phase in period. It is now expected that schools will have implemented all policy directives identified within the Food and Nutrition Policy for Nova Scotia Public Schools. The objective of the policy is to help make the healthy food and beverage choice the easy choice in the school setting. The School Nutritionist is available to support school communities with this objective.
