School Social Workers can help students, families and/or schools when the following issues arise:

  • aggression and anger
  • alcohol and/or drug use/abuse
  • attendance problems or behavioral problems
  • child abuse and neglect
  • classroom problems
  • communication difficulties
  • death, depression, family problems or grief
  • parenting questions
  • poor peer relationships and social skills
  • remarriage separation/divorce or self-esteem
  • sexuality questions, stress or unhappiness
  • suicidal thoughts or teenage pregnancy
