Host Family Information Session: April 28, 2022

Have you ever wondered what is would be like to host an International student?
 
Since 1997, the Nova Scotia International Student Program has welcomed students from around the world into homes across Nova Scotia. 
 
Working in partnership with the Halifax Region Centre for Education and Early Childhood Development, students are given the opportunity to improve their English language skills while learning first-hand about life in Nova Scotia.

During this session you will hear from:
 
  • Current host families 
  • International student participants
  • Halifax Region Centre for Education 
Participating in this program can be a life changing experience for both students and their host families.

Become a Host Family, Help an International Student

The Nova Scotia International Student Program has launched Bring Home the World, a campaign to bring more awareness about opportunities to host students to more families and communities across the province.

International Services is looking for warm and caring host families for international students attending schools within the Halifax Regional Centre for Education.

Hosting a student is an exciting adventure that enriches your family's life and brings a world of new ideas and experiences right to your doorstep. Host Families are supported by a Homestay Coordinator and financial assistance is provided during the student's stay ($675 tax free per month).

Host families are required for students who are in Grades 7 to 12.
