NEW: Out-of-Area Request for Pre-Primary

  • Parents/guardians may now seek placement for their child attending the Pre-Primary Program in a school outside of the neighbourhood in which they reside under the guidelines of the Student Registration Policy.

  • This change is effective for the 2022-23 school year.

  • Out-of-Area requests for the 2022-23 school year can be submitted as of Friday, April 1, 2022.

  • Requests can only be made electronically. All submissions will be sent automatically to the Manager of Pre-Primary and will include a date and time stamp.

  • Requests for students who have older siblings in the receiving school in September will be given priority for an Out-of-Area placement, if adequate accommodation is available.

  • As Pre-Primary is a voluntary program and registration is open year-round, children who live in the catchment area must be accommodated first.

  • Acceptance of a child from outside catchment cannot result in the need for additional staff or classrooms.

  • By accepting an Out-of-Area transfer, families are responsible for transporting their child to and from school. Please contact the Student Transportation Team if you have questions about bus eligibility.

  • The Out-of-Area transfer is permanent.
