Parent/Teacher Conferences

Families are critical partners in student learning. Please know that you do not have to wait until scheduled Parent/Teacher Conferences to touch base with your child’s teacher. Gaining an understanding of how your child is progressing early on is key to a successful year.

Here are a few questions* to consider asking your child’s teacher:

  • What is my child learning?
  • How are they doing?
  • How do you know how they’re doing?
  • How can they improve?
  • What supports can I/will you provide if they are struggling?

Checking in with your child each day is also important. The following questions* may help create opportunities for discussion with your child:

  • What did you learn today?
  • How did you do?
  • What do you do if you don’t understand?
  • How can you improve?
  • What are you most proud of?

Never hesitate to connect with your child’s teacher or principal with any question or concerns. Our role is to support your child’s learning journey at any point in the school year.
