The Halifax Regional Centre for Education employs more than 11,000 full-time, part-time and casual employees within four union groups (NSTU, CUPE, NSGEU, NSUPE) and a non-union group, PEG (Professional Employees Group). The HRCE maintains casual pools (substitute lists) for our custodian, educational program assistant, library support specialist, lunch monitor, school secretary and teacher positions to provide short term coverage to schools when permanent staff are away.
