


To support enrolment growth, a modular classroom structure will be built at Halifax West High, ready to accommodate students for September 2023.
During the 2021-2022 fiscal year, updates will be made to the ventilation and heating systems.
In June 2019, the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) advised the school community funding had been secured to continue with upgrades to the school's heating system.
In May 2017, the provincial Department of Education and Early Childhood Development informed the Halifax Regional School Board that additional funding would be provided to continue with the third phase of replacing the heat pumps at Halifax West High School.
On June 3, 2016, it was announced by the provincial Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, that additional funding would be provided to continue with renovations at Halifax West. The HRSB will use these funds to continue with Phase 2 of replacing the heat pumps.
The provincial government announced a renovation project for Halifax West High School on May 14, 2015. The renovation will include fixing the stonework on the front of the building and upgrades to the heating system.
