Provincial Pre-Primary Program Expanding

The Provincial Pre-Primary Program will be expanding to 23 more schools in the HRCE for the 2019-2020 school year. Click here to read the news release from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.

Pre-Primary will now be available to families in the following schools

  • Alderney Elementary
  • Atlantic View Elementary
  • Bell Park Academic Centre
  • Burton Ettinger Elementary (Pre-Primary Program will be offered at a location off-site TBD)
  • Caldwell Road Elementary
  • Caudle Park Elementary
  • Cavalier Drive Elementary
  • Duc d’Anville Elementary (Pre-Primary Program will be offered at a location off-site TBD)
  • Elizabeth Sutherland School
  • Harrietsfield Elementary
  • Hawthorn Elementary
  • John MacNeil Elementary (Pre-Primary Program will be offered at John Martin Jr. High)
  • LeMarchant-St. Thomas Elementary (Pre-Primary Program will be offered at Sir Charles Tupper)
  • Millwood Elementary
  • Mount Edward Elementary
  • O’Connell Drive Elementary
  • Oldfield Consolidated School
  • Robert K. Turner Elementary
  • Rockingham Elementary
  • Saint Mary’s Elementary (Pre-Primary Program will be offered at Inglis Street School)
  • St. Catherine’s Elementary
  • Sunnyside Elementary
  • Tallahassee Community School

Registration

Registration for the new Pre-Primary Programs will begin on Friday, April 12, 2019.

To be eligible, a child must have reached their fourth birthday on or before December 31, 2019 and live within the catchment area of the school offering the program.

Registration takes place at each school with the following exceptions:

  • For children living in the Saint Mary’s catchment, registration will take place at Inglis Street Elementary
     
  • For children living in the LeMarchant-St. Thomas catchment, registration will take place at Sir Charles Tupper Elementary

Parents/guardians must present the child's proof of age, legal name (as listed on birth certificate, passport, immigration papers, legal name change certificate or adoption documents), proof of residency (such as a current utility bill), Nova Scotia Health Card (MSI) number and expiry date at the time of registration.
