Pre-Primary Out-of-Catchment Space Availability 2019-2020

To increase access to the Pre-Primary Program, a process to accept students who live outside of a school catchment offering Pre-Primary has been established.

Starting Monday, October 7, 2019 families will be able to register their child in Pre-Primary outside of their catchment area in schools where programs are not at full capacity. These spaces are available to children that currently do not have access to a Pre-Primary Program in their catchment school.

It's important to note that there are a limited number of spaces available. Programs with availability are as follows (Updated Oct. 22, 2019):

Registration opened on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the schools listed above.

Please note:

  • The out-of-catchment process will launch on October 7, 2019 and will continue until no more spaces are available.
  • Children must not currently have access to Pre-Primary in their catchment school.
  • Children must not have already attended a Pre-Primary Program.
  • Applications are on a first-come, first-served basis until there are no more spaces available.

Parents/guardians must present the child’s proof of age, legal name (as listed on birth certificate, passport, immigration papers, legal name change certificate or adoption documents), proof of residency (such as a current utility bill), Nova Scotia Health Card (MSI) number and expiry date at the time of registration.

To be eligible, a child must have reached their fourth birthday on or before December 31, 2019.
