Closure of Schools Extended

April 28, 2020

Families,

Earlier today, Premier Stephen McNeil announced that all public schools in Nova Scotia will remain closed until at least Tuesday, May 19. To read the news release click here .

I know these are challenging times for families. Trying to support the learning needs of your child(ren) is a daunting task, especially while juggling personal, family, work and other home responsibilities.

Learning during this pandemic is not meant to replicate school. If this is adding too much to an already full plate, please reach out to your child’s teacher/principal to discuss. No child will be left behind because of this extended closure due to COVID-19.

Remember that you are not alone and if you need support, please reach out. You can contact that HRCE at connect@hrce.ca or call 902-464-2000.

There are brighter days ahead. Take care of yourself and your family, especially at this time.

Elwin LeRoux,
Regional Executive Director of Education
