April 18, 2021

UPDATED April 21, 2021: The school will remain closed to students until at least Monday, April 26.

Public Health has confirmed that a case of COVID-19 is connected to St. Joseph's - Alexander McKay Elementary (SJAM).

Public Health is now working to identify any students and staff who may have been in close contact with the confirmed case.

Out of an abundance of caution, Public Health is recommending that all students and staff at SJAM be tested for COVID-19, whether or not symptoms are present.

In consultation with Public Health, SJAM will be closed to students until at least Thursday, April 22 to allow for a deep cleaning and contact tracing.

Students will learn from home during the closure and families of the school will receive an update on Wednesday, April 21.
