Enhanced Public Health Measures being Introduced

The Province has announced new restrictions for all schools in Nova Scotia to address the rising number of COVID-19 cases. Click here to read the news release.

Enhanced Measures for Schools

Effective immediately, the following enhanced public health measures are being introduced to reduce mixing and movement inside schools and on school grounds:

  • School sports teams are limited to skills training only - no games or scrimmages.
  • Traditional holiday activities such as assemblies and concerts are cancelled.
  • No mixing of classes, including a pause on activities like “Reading Buddies”.
  • Masks are required both indoors and outdoors where physical distancing can’t be maintained.
  • There will be limited access to school cafeterias.
  • Essential visitors only.

Masking

The following measures are to be followed:

  • Indoors (This applies for all ages where physical distancing cannot be maintained) - Masks may be removed when eating, drinking or enganged in physical activity.
  • Outdoors - Masks are not required.
