2019-2020 Capital Projects
On November 14, 2019, the provincial government announced an update to its school capital plan. Click here to read the news release.
Among the projects announced was a new high school on Broad Street in West Bedford, which will be co-located with the previously announced pre-primary to Grade 8 school.
Additional capital projects in the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, include:
Currently underway:
- Marine Drive Academy (Replacing Duncan MacMillan)
- New JL Ilsley High School
- New Pre-Primary to Grade 8 in Bedford Ravines
- New High School in Bedford Ravines
Future projects:
- Clayton Park-Fairview area school
- Eastern Shore area high school
- St. Joseph’s A. MacKay Elementary School, Halifax (renovation)
In addition, the following capital project was completed in 2019:
- LeMarchant-St. Thomas Elementary (Opened September 2019)
