b'October 2019Supplementary FundingReport to Community Fine arts enhancements continue to expand in the Halifax Regional Centre for Education! I am excited to share that the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) and the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) recently signed a new five-year Supplementary Education Funding Agreement. This agreement supports and enhances all aspects of fine arts programming for HRCEs 50,000 students in every community throughout HRM. And its all #ThanksToYouHalifax! On behalf of all HRCE students and families, I offer my heartfelt thanks to HRM Council for their leadership and to our community for the continued support of Supplementary Education Funding. Fine arts programming deeply enhances the learning experiences for HRMs youngest citizens. HRCE shares HRMs goal of creating a healthy, sustainable, viable and well-educated community. From visual arts to dance to drama to music, HRA offers something for every student. There is no question the impact of this unique-to-Halifax opportunity will be lasting in this ever-growing creative economy. Each spring, HRCE will release a budget and business plan that outlines how Supplementary Education Funding will be allocated. It will also demonstrate what HRA programming looks like in schools and what it means to HRCE families. AsHRAcontinuestogrow,Ilookforwardtosharingourstoriesoverthenextfiveyearsandbeyond!
