5 Technology Advantage Program What will September bring for students who are enrolled in the Technology Advantage Program? Lots of exposure to exciting technology, hands-on experiences and connections with experts in a variety of STEAM-based careers! This fall, 115 students from the Cole Harbour District High and J.L. Ilsley families of schools will begin their journey with the Technology Advantage Program (TAP). The program is designed to spark student interest in tech-related careers though internships, co-op placements and industry mentorship opportunities. TAP is made possible through a number of partnerships that include the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD), Nova Scotia Community College and IBM Canada. A number of other business partners are also stepping up to be part of this exciting new opportunity. Teachers who will lead TAP programs next year have been working together to share ideas, develop curriculum and build relationships.
