You get a a powerful, life-changing event that celebrates differences, promotes social justice and inspires young people to make a difference in their local communities – and abroad! WE Day Atlantic invigorates students, celebrates their contributions and kicks off another year of positive change. From Margaret Trudeau to Rick Hansen to Gord Downie, students experienced highly energetic performances, heard compelling personal stories and left inspired and empowered to create positive change in the world. More than 80% of HRSB schools are involved in WE Schools and attended WE Day Atlantic on November 30. That number is expected to grow in the coming year! As we mark Canada 150 in 2017, WE Schools will celebrate the country’s rich culture. Themes will include: diversity and inclusion, reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, youth and the environment.
