The building is taking shape and there’s lots happening behind the scenes to prepare for a smooth transition for students and staff. The administration for Island View High School has been named: Pat Savage will be Principal and Danny Smith will be Vice Principal. Beginning on February 2, Mr. Savage will be dedicated full-time to serving the needs of Island View students at the Cole Harbour District High School (CHDH) and Eastern Passage Education Centre (EPEC) sites. Students and families who wish to meet with him will be able to do so at those locations. A Transition Committee has been formed to work through the details of the changeover. The committee includes parents/guardians, students, teachers and principals from both CHDH and EPEC, as well as the principal for Island View High. This month, current Grade 10 and 11 CHDH students are completing a survey about the new school. The purpose is to hear directly from students directly in order to inform transition plans. There are many decisions to be made over the next few months. As it becomes available, information will be shared on the following school websites: Island View High Cole Harbour District High Eastern Passage Education Centre For updates, follow @islandviewhigh on Twitter.
