Out-of-Region Request
- Parents/guardians may seek placement for their child in a school outside of the region in which they reside under the guidelines of the Student Registration Policy.
- Parent must seek written release from their Regional Centre for Education and forward to Halifax Regional Centre for Education – secondary school requests should be sent to Kelly Eaglestone keaglestone@hrce.ca and elementary school requests should be sent to Sabrina Lawrence lawrences@hrce.ca.
- If the request is approved, parents/guardians will be provided an application package for Out-of-Region.
- Out-of-Region requests for the next school year will be processed by the last school day of the school year.
- If a request has been approved, re-application is not required in subsequent years.
- Parents/guardians requesting a transfer are responsible for their child’s transportation to and from school.
