Financial Services provides services to schools and HRCE departments in the areas of finance, accounting, payroll, purchasing, contract and grants administration.

For the 2025-26 fiscal year, the HRCE will manage a General Fund budget of $891,717,200, of which $649,242,400 comes from the Province of Nova Scotia, $210,699,500 comes from the Halifax Regional Municipality and the remainder from other sources.

The HRCE will also manage a Supplementary Fund budget of $12,737,600 (provided by the HRM) which is spent equitably across the entire region.
