HRCE Schools Plus and Student Services Specialists are offering a blended model of virtual and in-person supports to students and families during the summer months.

Schools Plus Assistant Leaders can meet with you in your community, over the phone, or through our virtual confidential tele-education platform. Contact information for your Schools Plus Assistant Leader is on your school website. Don’t hesitate to reach out!

Summer Virtual Workshops

HRCE Students going into Grades 2-7 are invited to register for fun and engaging virtual summer workshops with our Child and Youth Care Practitioners (CYCPs)! Virtual workshops are free from July 6 – August 13.

Each week our CYCPs will meet with children and their same-aged peers and use games, conversation, books, movement activities and all kinds of other fun ways to develop their social, emotional and communication skills.

HRCE School Psychologists and Speech and Language Pathologists are offering a number of excellent free workshops for students and parents from July 6-August 13.

There are a wide range of topics like Working through Worries, Problem Solving for Parents / Guardians and Kids, Emotional Regulation, Managing Stress in High School, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Boost your reading skills, Building language skills with books, Preparing your Child for Primary and many others!

Summer In-person Workshops

In accordance with current Public Health directives, a limited number of in-person workshops for students at select schools will be offered.

HRCE Student Services is inviting students who were in grades P-5 in 2020-2021 from Westmount, Oxford, St. Catherine’s, Joseph Howe, Harbourview, John MacNeil, Bicentennial and Shannon Park to join SchoolsPlus and Student Services staff for free fun and engaging summer workshops led by our Child and Youth Care Practitioners.

Each week our teams will meet with children and their same aged peers and use games, art, conversation, books, movement activities and all kinds of other fun ways to develop their social, emotional, and communication skills.

Children will be grouped in cohorts of 10 (2 adults and 8 children) in same aged grade bands at each school. Spots are limited due to public health guidelines. Children can sign up for a week of morning workshops from 9:30 -11:30 am or afternoon workshops from 1:00-3:00 pm.
