Families,  

Another school year is complete! Thank you to our students, staff, and families for a great year of learning. As we head into summer, here are a few important reminders: 

Student Registration 

Are you moving this summer? Looking to sign up for Pre-Primary? Know someone who is new to our school system? We are accepting registrations for Pre-Primary through Grade 12 online. You can find more information here. If you need assistance with registration, our Family Navigator is available to help.   

Summer Support for Families 

Our SchoolsPlus Team is available throughout the summer months to support students and families. Parents, guardians and students (12+) can self-refer by calling 902-464-2041 or emailing schoolsplus@hrce.ca. Support is free and confidential. 

Student Transportation  

If your child is eligible for busing, you will be able to view their 2026–27 schedule in BusPlanner’s Parent Portal in mid-July. An email will also be sent to bus-eligible families as a reminder. If you have any questions or need support, please call 902-431-4723 or email transportation@hrce.ca. HRCE’s Transportation team is available throughout the summer to assist you with questions about busing. When contacting the team, please have your child’s name, grade, school, and student ID number ready. 

PowerSchool 

As we update our systems for the coming year, PowerSchool will be offline as of July 2. It will reopen to students and parents/guardians on September 2 at 3 p.m. for the new year. 

School Calendar  

The first day of school for students will be Thursday, September 3, 2026. To see the 2026-27 school calendar, click here.
