The following message has been shared with all staff and families in the Millwood High Family of Schools on Thursday, April 23
We want to share that police training activities will take place at Millwood High School this weekend, on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26.
This is a planned training exercise with the RCMP, carried out in partnership with HRCE, and reflects our shared commitment to keeping our school communities safe. There is no threat to students, staff, families, or the public, and no students or staff are involved in the training.
You may notice emergency vehicles, a visible police presence, and officers in tactical gear at the school on both days. While this may look unusual, please be assured that this activity is part of a scheduled training exercise only.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff is always our highest priority. Exercises like this support the ongoing work we do with our policing partners to ensure schools remain safe and prepared.
The RCMP has also shared a public advisory with the community, which can be found below.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment: Public Advisory
RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment, in partnership with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE), will be conducting Immediate Action Rapid Deployment (IARD) training at Millwood High School on April 25 and 26.
This planned training supports our shared commitment to school safety and ensures police officers are prepared to respond quickly and effectively during critical incidents in school settings. Residents may notice an increased police presence and officers in tactical gear during this time; however, there is no threat to the school or the public.
We thank students, families, staff, and nearby residents for their understanding as we carry out this important safety-focused training.
