All schools in the Halifax Regional Centre for Education are closed today, Tuesday, January 27, 2026 due to poor road conditions, and to allow for cleanup following the winter storm.

This decision was based on the following factors:

• Additional snowfall of 8-12 cm overnight
• Icy road conditions reported throughout HRM
• School grounds, sidewalks and side roads are still being cleared

HRCE Offices are delayed in opening by two hours.
